Local residents will have the opportunity to comment on Kent Science Park’s plans for a further £25m investment, which has the potential to deliver a further 500 jobs to the Borough, as well as give their views about traffic on Ruins Barn Road.
A public meeting, to be held at Tunstall Village Hall on Wednesday 25 June, will give local residents the opportunity to see the latest proposals for development at Kent Science Park over the next five years.
The proposals include a new Arrivals Centre, for which a planning application which is about to be lodged with Swale Borough Council, plus the development of further Technology Units following the success of the recently completed first phase of new buildings. The meeting will also enable local residents to comment on the expansion of the Park by four hectares to accommodate new companies and an international headquarters building for Ecologia.
Andrew Bull of LaSalle Investment Management, the company which manages Kent Science Park, said: “These proposals, which are consistent with the Swale Local Plan, would ensure that the Park has the ability to accommodate the needs of existing tenants and new companies moving to the Park over the next four to five years.
“The proposed Arrivals Centre, replacing the existing Gatehouse, will create the right impression of Kent Science Park for the 1,000 people that work here and the many suppliers and businesses who visit the Park every week.”
In particular residents on Ruins Barn Road will be asked for their views about traffic issues on the road itself and how they think they can be dealt with.
Kent Science Park has also developed a dedicated website, which it is hoped will go live before the public meeting.
Doors open at 7.00pm and the meeting will start at 7.30pm and close at 9.00pm. Local residents can also call 01795 411500 and request a copy of the latest Newsletter which is currently being produced.
