Torrey Pines golf course will see some of the worlds best golfers today as the 108th U.S. Open gets underway, but all eyes will be on Tiger Woods as he takes aim at the 7,643-yard South course at the San Diego and this is because he is back playing again for the first time since knee surgery.
It’s already been two months since Tiger Woods played in the Masters and finished as a runner up. We all know what Tiger can do with a golf club and his track record is amazing to say the least, but with the man being followed by three dozen cameras watching his every move, How will this man perform at Torrey Pines?
Woods has been reported saying, “I plan on playing competitive. Come game time on Thursday, I’ll be ready”. This is the kind of positive talk Tiger Woods fans want to hear, as there are certainly enough people who love to see others fail. We have also heard that the USGA purposely rigged the draw so they can have Adam Scott, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods in the same group.
With the 108th US Open having sold 42,500 tickets, the question has to be whom they have come to watch? Is this just a competition of two players with Tiger Woods owning Torrey Pines as a pro and Phil Mickelson having grown up in San Diego?
