oldest shoe store in town has won a prestigious award
The Golden Boot, on Gabriel’s Hill, in Maidstone is the oldest shoe store in town and has just won a prestigious award for the third year running for being ‘a blueprint for the way a modern footwear specialist should be run’.

The family shoe retailer won the award at the fashion industry-bible Drapers Footwear Awards which was held at the Park Lane Hilton Hotel, in London. Judges complimented the store, which is run by father and son Lawrence and Edward Martin, for finding women’s footwear brands from international trade shows.

Lawrence Martin said that “It is marvellous to achieve such recognition from the leading authority in the UK fashion industry. It is another successful chapter in our long and varied history and we pride ourselves on matching our selection of fashionable and practical footwear with unrivalled customer service.”

The business was also runner-up for best men’s footwear retailer.
