Liverpool’s Fab Four The Beatles: The backdrop to Mike Southon’s speech at IOD

The inspirational story of Liverpool’s Fab Four the Beatles will be the backdrop to serial entrepreneur and author Mike Southon’s speech at the Institute of Directors’ (IOD) Business Breakfast event at the Kent Show, which takes place on Friday, July 11.

Mike is co-author – with Chris West – of four books on starting and growing businesses and plans to use the iconic pop group from Merseyside as a metaphor for entrepreneurship during his talk as well as drawing on his own experiences.

A fellow of the Professional Speakers’ Association, Mike has made frequent appearances on television and radio and has a weekly column on entrepreneurship in the Financial Times. He is also a Visiting Fellow in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at London South Bank University.

Frazer Thompson, Chairman of the Kent branch of the IOD, said: “We are delighted to once again be offering the chance for business people to get together at the Kent County Show. Last year’s event was a tremendous success and with Mike topping the bill, I expect another packed marquee.”

The breakfast will be held at the Kent County Show, Detling, on Friday July 11 from 7.30am to 10am. Tickets, which include showground entry and breakfast, cost £40 for IoD members and £45 for non-members. Places are limited and early booking is recommended.

Tickets are available from Debbie Cameron by telephone on 01732 849570 or email debbie.cameron@iod.com.
