Uncontacted Tribes Threaten Helicopter: Survival International claim 100 more
Members of one of the few remaining indigenous tribes still isolated from the modern world brandished weapons as a helicopter flew over their village in the Amazon. Brazilian Government officials have taking these fantastic pictures of Envira Indians during several flights over a remote part of Brazil’s Acre state.

Two members of the few remaining indigenous tribes still isolated from the modern world were painted in bright orange and brandished weapons as a helicopter flew over their village. It’s said that others could be seen in the background, apparently startled by the presence of the noisy machine in their skies.

Uncontacted Tribes Threaten Helicopter: Survival International claim 100 more
Jose Carlos dos Reis Meirelles who is an expert on “uncontacted” tribes and who works for the Brazilian government’s Indian affairs department said that “We did the over-flight to show their houses, to show they are there, to show they exist. This is very important because there are some who doubt their existence.”

Jose said that in spite of the threat of the encroaching world, the number of Envira Indians is thought to be increasing.

Survival International which is a London-based group that defends the rights of tribal people, and estimates that there are more than 100 remaining isolated indigenous tribes worldwide and it’s said that there are more than half in either Peru or Brazil.

Stephen Corry who is the director of Survival International said that “These pictures are further evidence that uncontacted tribes really do exist. The world needs to wake up to this, and ensure that their territory is protected in accordance with international law. Otherwise, they will soon be made extinct.”

What do you make of all this?

Protect them from the evils of greed. They are founding fathers of that land, all others are newcomers. So few are left.

    They have progressed tremendously.

great pics! and amazing to see an unspoiled indigenous culture still alive. but we should leave them alone! and protect them from the corruption of this world! it is easy to think that we have something they would want, called the ”modern way of life” but if they were really needing of something surely they would have gone looking for it.

Amazing pictures. They need not be disturbed. If we don’t interfere with their life they will continue to live forever. Whole Amazon forest should be protected.

This seems to me to be a fantastic opportunity to study.. well, something. These people show an alternate path of technological progression, something very different from ours. Why is it that they’re still using bows and arrows while we’ve long since evolved our methods of war? This could be a very interesting thing to investigate. Of course, they should remain completely isolated, as much as they are now.

It is exciting to know that there are uncontacted tribes in the world. They must be protected. Also I have a doubt. If the two persons are painted orange, the black figure behind them is the original colour of these persons?

They disturbed a sacred testicle crushing ceremony! The woman in black performs the mutilation. It is the same with Australian Aborigines. Micronesians do something similar. They drill a hole near the base of the young man’s penis. Only, when the elders consider the young male responsible do they teach him to place his finger on the hole. So, he can then go on to father children for the tribe.

Hadn’t the scientists, in the helicopter, ever heard of Sperm War Theory Must be student scientists. They deserve a big wedgy!
