Huge turn out at rally for new hospital in Dover

Over the weekend thousands of people turned out for the public rally to campaign for a main hospital for Dover. The rally was organised by town councillor David Hannent and Eythorne parish councillor Reg Hansell.
Cllr Reg Hansell said that “It was exceptional, absolutely magic. Everyone signed petitions and because there were so many people it all went on for longer than expected. People spoke out during the rally and we all heard some very sad stories and from those fed up with travelling so far for hospital services. I also did a speech. I felt like a footballer with all the support I got from the crowd. I’m over the moon with how much support there is for this campaign. The next thing we’re going to do is get a coach and take our petition, when completed, to Westminster, to the Prime Minister directly.”
Charlie Elphicke, Tory parliamentary candidate for Dover and Deal said that “The rally was a real success. It was great how the community came together to campaign for what the town needs.
I think that they should have a main hospital, so many people have to travel for treatment mainly to London and while they are recovering it would be nice to be transferred back to their own hospital near your friends and family.
What do you think? Did you take part in the rally over the weekend?
