It has been reported that a British couple have abandoned their newborn IVF girl twins because they wanted boys. The mum is said to be 59 and dad is said to be 72 they conceived in India with fertility treatment and returned to England for the birth.

Apparently after the twins birth which was by Caesarean section in the New Cross Hospital Wolverhampton the couple told horrified doctors that they did not want the “wrong sex” babies. The parents were born in India but are British citizens living in Birmingham.

Its said that the dad of the twin girls asked doctors how soon it would be before his wife was fit enough to fly out again for further IVF in the hope of getting a boy to continue the family name.

An NHS insider said that “Everyone is utterly appalled. How could any parent do this? This is Britain in the 21st century. But they just weren’t prepared to raise these two beautiful girls.”

The twins were transferred to a central NHS hospital in Birmingham and it is believed that their parents are still in the city.

A spokeswoman for New Cross Hospital said that “We can confirm a pair of twins were born at New Cross Hospital. They were healthy and well. They were born here because the maternity (facility) where the parents were living was busy, so a few days later they were transferred to a Birmingham hospital, where the parents were living.”

A spokesman for Birmingham Council’s social services department said that he could not confirm any details, and a spokeswoman for the West Midlands Police said she was not aware of any police involvement in the case.

This is sick how someone can abandon their twins just because they are girls. It is clear that this couple should never have children. What are they going to do next time if they have girls the same I guess?

There are so many people out there who can not have children and who go though IVF for years to have their baby and this couple have just done what is wrong with them.

Let’s hope that these little girls have a safe and secure up bringing in a loving family home.
