Kent to see more immigrants needing accommodation

It has been announced that Kent will have to squeeze in thousands of more homes for migrants in the coming years. Government predictions have said that around 36,000 people will arrive in the South East needing accommodation each year up to the year 2029. The figure covers Kent, Sussex and parts of Essex and was released by the Department of Communities and Local Government.

It’s said that the South East will be a more likely destination than London for newcomers, as there will be more work available for the unskilled in areas such as agriculture, especially in the summer months.

Sir Andrew Green, who is from the Migration watch group which monitors newcomers to the UK, said that “This underlines the massive impact immigration is having throughout the country. The effect of immigration on housing demand is an aspect which the Government does its best to play down.” It is also predicted that one third of new households across the country will be formed by new immigrants.

Now I don’t mind them coming to live here but only if they are willing to work and not just come over here for the easy life on benefits which a lot of them at the moment seem to do.

I have noticed that it is harder to get a doctors appointment and I have even experienced trouble getting my son who is 4 and can not talk speech therapy but again because of so many people arriving in the country this has been made worse. Maybe before the government let more in they should sort out better facilities for us who pay our taxes
