CCTV is to be installed on fire engines
It has been announced that CCTV is going to be installed on a fire engine in Medway and this could also be added to other appliances across Kent. It said by doing this they hope it will crack down on any anti-social behaviour, as well as to help with training and investigation work by the Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

Graham Gash who is the North division operations manager said that “the crews in Medway had seen five incidents of anti-social behaviour over the past 15 months. One of the camera’s uses would be to detect abusive offenders. There have been occasions of abuse towards crews from verbal abuse to stones being thrown at fire appliances,”

By having CCTV on engines it will also help in other roles such as training and assisting with fire investigations because the scene will be captured on CCTV.

The first camera is apparently going to be fitted next month.

Do you think that this is a good idea?
